Gluten Free Items from Galena Bakehouse

Friendly reminder that we can sell out on busy days. Yes, even our gluten free options. ;)

We CANNOT guarantee the absence of cross-contamination from allergen causing products. Galena Bakehouse uses best efforts when baking gluten free products including using separate equipment for gluten free items. If individuals who will consume item(s) purchased from Galena Bakehouse have a gluten allergy, we recommend finding a bakery that is free from all wheat flours.

That being said, below is a list of gluten-friendly from Galena Bakehouse:


*Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin

These fluffy muffins are from our days as Innkeepers at the Bed & Breakfast. We wouldn't tell the guests that they were gluten free, because who cares! They're a tasty crowd-pleaser that pairs perfectly with a latte from the barista station.


*Glazed Almond Coffee Cake served by the slice

Spongy flavorful almond cake topped with toasted almonds and vanilla glaze. We offered this coffee cake as a pop-up recipe our first year, & it was our most requested pastry when we took it off the menu. Enjoy it now on the daily menu, while it lasts! This item is available as a whole cake on our holiday menus. The whole cake is typically available for pre-order by e-mailing us at least 72 hours in advance. Please note, we can sell out of whole cakes in advance as well.


*Chipa - Savory Cheese Biscuit

Have you had a chipa before? Originally created in South America, these cheese biscuits are served warm. Alex describes them as "pillowy & rip-able" and our team is obsessed, GF folks and non GF folks. We warm them up in the bakery for you to enjoy right away, OR you can take them home, refrigerate, and microwave for 30 seconds.


They are great on their own, or enjoyed with the Bakehouse Chicken Salad (also, GF). Chipas are tasty served with soups, pastas, a seafood boil side, or even sliced in half and used as a bun for a GF sandwich at home.


*Housemade Macarons

Just ask a local, the Bakehouse serves the only house-made macarons on Main Street. One of the fun things to do in town is taste test along our bustling Main Street. We bake 5-7 flavors depending on the day, and all flavors are gluten free. Birthday Cake, and Hazelnut Cappuccino macarons are our most popular flavors.

We serve "macs" in sets of 12 (two of each flavor), sets of 6 (one of each flavor), and we have smaller bags for single to four.

What is a macaron? A meringue cookie filled with buttercream.

How do you say it? Who cares! But if you do, "mac-uh-ron"

Can I order these in advance? Only if you really want to try specific flavors. We can sellout of select flavors by the end of the day or weekend. We have cute 3-pack boxes, with ribbon, that we offer for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, etc.


*Bakehouse Granola (if you can eat oats)

One of Geoff' s family recipes! Honey, pecan, coconut is served in 8oz bags for gifting, or 1 oz cups to enjoy with Bakehouse fruit cups and Chobani yogurt. Granola is also tasty stirred into cereal, as a pie topping (can you imagine how delicious your apple or peach pie will be?), or on top of ice cream.





*Did I try something else that isn't on this list in the past?

We love baking specialty items for the bakery case. Our small business is unable to offer all of our specialty items daily due to staffing and space. Look out for specialty items to seasonally pop-up. If a team member says "This is just for today"... get it! Thank you for supporting our small business!
