Galena is known for locally sourced products, ingredients, and hand-crafted goods. So who are we to change that? Galena Bakehouse is committed to bringing high quality baked goods that are made from scratch and using the freshest ingredients thanks to partnerships with local farms and local coffee roasters.
We freshly bake each menu item daily and sell out quickly. Our macarons are handmade in house. We hand laminate our doughs in house. We create our sauces, dressings, and buttercreams in house. Fresh food made daily... that's our jam.
Breakfast
Our menu was created by former innkeepers, Alex & Geoff Arroyo-Karnish.
With a large variety of pastries and morning delights, there is something for everyone! The menu changes seasonally and the bakery counter may look different every day, but a few options are here to stay.
Pastries include homemade muffins, classic scones, croissant danishes (laminated in-house), cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing freshly piped, Argentinian cheese bread called Chipas, and breakfast empanadas. Flavors and fillings for these treats change daily: baker's choice! Don't forget to add on a fresh fruit cup or homemade honey pecan granola for a balanced breakfast.
Bloddy Mary mix with Titos, or champagne in bottles or cans is conveniently available to make your breakfast gathering or breakfast picnic a true celebration!
Lunch
This is what the locals are talking about.
Lunch at Galena Bakehouse is brought out around 11:30-ish. Everything is handmade and prepped in-house for a custom bite every time. We relish bold flavors and nostalgic recipes that are crowd-pleasers.
Staff favorites include tomato ricotta galettes, tarragon chicken salad (try it with warmed-up chipas!), and handmade empanadas. There are typically a few empanada flavors including beef picadillo, chicken tinga, buffalo chicken, pepperoni pizza, spinach & artichoke, butternut squash, onion & cheese, and more! Daily created side salads, and fruit cups are available. We carry grain-free pretzels, trail mix, vegan chickpea puffs, and a variety of kettle chips, like rosemary & garlic.
View our wine & beer selections below to pair your lunch bites with an adult beverage. Simply lemonade, sodas, and sparkling water available.
Dessert
Be a cupcake in a world full of muffins.
Homemade treats are the way to a Midwesterner's heart. Every meal of the day should have dessert on vacation!
Macarons are made in-house and are in the case all day long. These are difficult and delicate treats to make but they were a favorite happy hour treat at the Inn, and they are naturally gluten free. Flavors are created daily but a few include chocolate macarons filled with homemade ganache and raspberry compote, vanilla bean, passion fruit, birthday cake, lemon macaron filled with homemade lemon curd, and a watermelon macaron.
Jumbo cookies, classic lemon squares, browned butter rice crispies, salted caramel chocolate squares, and gourmet hand piped cupcakes may also be in the bakery counter if you're lucky.
Our favorite gluten free crowd-pleasing dessert has to be our tres leches cake topped with light house-made whipped cream. Fingers crossed that its available!
Espresso
I love you a latte.
Locally roasted on Main Street, our coffee was a hit and an obsession for many of our guests at the Inn. We're excited to share it with Galena Bakehouse customers in the form of retail (whole bean 12 oz coffee available in-store) and through delicious morning and afternoon pick me ups.
Menu items include local Perry Street Blend medium roast drip coffee, flavored lattes, pumpkin spice & mocha lattes, cappuccino, cold-brew, and americanos. Try the Bakehouse Latte (honey & vanilla)! We particularly love the selection of artisan teas from Art of Tea and fun iced tea flavors.
